Short story: Reading Victorian novels in my Victorian bathtub like the heiress I wish I were.
Longer story: Start here.
Disclaimer: This blog is an exploration of Christie’s works in the order in which she wrote them (not in the order in which they were published). I am not an expert on Agatha Christie–her life, works, and trust. There are some excellent biographers whom I have tried to read sparsely in order to 1) focus on her stories and 2) not be too swayed by the perspectives that already exists. One of my greatest pet peeves, both as a writer and reader, is imbuing art with too much intention of its creator or too much historical context. Let those artworks breathe! I am an ex-teacher (I taught some of her stories to high schoolers in Japan and college students in the U.S.), a voracious reader of Christie’s work, and a continuing fan of her life. The Agatha Project is very much an in-process endeavor and I invite readers to come along with me in real time.
